3. Protected species, fossils and minerals
A protected species is a taxonomical unit of a species of fauna, flora or fungi, the habitats of which are protected on the basis of the Nature Conservation Act or which are listed in Annexes A to D of Council Regulation No 338/97/EC. Protected fossils and minerals are fossils or minerals of a protected category, specimens or places of finding of which are protected under the Nature Conservation Act. At the moment there are not protected fossils and minerals in Estonia.
