Vegetation
Comparison and classification of similar vegetation groups or communities distinguishes between vegetation site types or typologically generalised vegetation units. Estonian vegetation cover units are generally divided into: 1) main site conditions, 2) composition of organisms and layers by species 3) type of formation and human impact. According to the site conditions vegetation is divided into terrestrial and aquatic. Organisms (trees, bushes, perennials, etc.) together with site conditions provide a basis for classification of vegetation community. Classification according to types of formation results in natural and anthropogenic vegetation.
