Biodiversity Country Study

Compilation of national study of Estonian Biodiversity – Country Study – was commenced in 1996; collection of materials was completed by 1998. Project was funded by United Nations Environment Programme and it was supervised by the Ministry of Environment in cooperation with Tallinn representation of UN Development Programme. About one hundred experts participated in compilation of the study: from biologists to economists and lawyers. Country studies shall comprise information and evaluations with regard to resources and biodiversity, considering relevant legislation, development plans, organisations, finances and human resources, preferences, bottlenecks and potential solutions.

Unfortunately here are only Estonian version about Estonian biodiversity Country Study. Next seven titles mean in English: 1. terrestial invertebrates, 2. microscopic world and biotechnology, 3. herbs, 4. fungi, 5. vertebrates, 6. vegetation of inland waters, 7. algae.
